Last year the district was taking a look at whether breaking out the 7 & 8 grades by period was an education advantage. In order to do this we had to create a middle school for attendance purposes since they would be taking attendance by period (like the high school does). However, after one year the decision was made to go back to how AUSD has been configured in past years. This eliminated the distinction of a middle school.
