Ajo Middle School Science
Rebecca Estolano obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Education in 1995. She pursued graduate school by studying Master's Degree in Education with a major in Educational Management and graduated this course in 2002 with a master's thesis entitled, "Correlates of Burnout of Elementary Grades Teachers in the Division of Tacloban City". Last May, 2008, she took her comprehensive examinations for her to qualify for graduation for her Masters Degree in Special Education. She has also completed 30 units in Doctor of Arts in Language Teaching. She took her Bachelors Degree, graduate and post graduate education at the Leyte Normal University, in Tacloban City.
After graduating from college, she taught in Saint Anthony SPED Center (a private school) as a Kindergarten teacher. She has learned to share laughter, to teach content, to instill values and to create excitement about learning. Thus, when she passed the Board Examinations for teachers with a GPA of 81.74 which granted her a Professional License to teach in the Philippines, she applied and was able to teach in the public schools. She taught in different schools in Tacloban City- community schools, Barangay schools and central schools. She handled different grade levels- grades 1, 3, 4 and 6. After 13 years of teaching, she gained extensive experiences in classroom teaching.
By keeping abreast of the latest findings of empirical researches in education and by putting them into practice as well as the insights she gained through continued schooling, she was able to improve the academic performance of her students. Hence, as a teacher she received various commendations and awards. Among them are: Leyte Normal University-Field Laboratory Supervising Teacher Educator School Year 2004-2005 and Story Writer in the Regional Writeshop on the Development of Primers and Pre-primers for Grade I (2006).
