K-12 Art Teacher (2010/2011)

The Ajo Unified School District is seeking a highly qualified Art teacher. The successful candidate will be teaching 30 minute classes to Kindergarten thorough High School level students. The successful candidate must have a college major in teaching, with a background in Art or able to pass the teacher assessments PRAXIS or AEPA in Art. Must be able to qualify for an AZ state provisional certificate and become highly qualified by December 2010.

K-12 Librarian/Media Specialist (2010/2011)

A vacancy exists for the position of a K-12 media specialist in a school of approximately 480 students. The successful candidate must be comfortable in all operations of a school library. This candidate should have experience with ordering and maintaining a collection, cataloguing the collection, and providing library skills support to students. The successful candidate must have graduated from an accredited university and qualify for an AZ media specialist certification.

The successful candidate will need to have or be qualified to become emergency certified in Arizona as a substitute teacher. Candidates must have at least 60 college credit hours to achieve emergency certification, and a bachelor s degree to achieve full certification. Candidates must be cleared through a state background check, work well with others, and enjoy interaction with youth.

Other:
Base salaries begin at $68.00 per day with an emergency certificate, and $73.00 per day fully credentialed.
