Ajo Unified School District Principal Frederick T. Fout
Ajo High School & Ajo Elementary School
I spent eight years as a teacher of English Literature and Writing, U.S. History, Drama and Speech, and Special Education before becoming an administrator.
My bachelor's degree is in Education, with majors in English Literature, Drama and Oral Communications, and a minor in Social Studies. I received my bachelor's from Marshall University in Huntington, W.V. This is the same university that the movie We Are Marshall is about, and the memorial for the football team is really as moving as the movie depicts. Marshall is named after Chief Justice of the United States John Marshall and was founded in 1837 in then Virginia.
I completed 21 graduate hours in Special Education at University of Phoenix' Tucson campus and a Masters in Education Administration through University of Phoenix' Online program.
I taught English for one semester at Ajo High School and seven and a half years at Tohono O'odham High School before becoming an administrator.
I am working on my PhD. In Education, with a focus on Curriculum and Instruction, and hope to eventually work at a district level and retire to a life of leisure on a boat near the equator.
I have family all over America, in states including; New Jersey, North Carolina, Florida, West Virginia, Ohio, Tennessee, Texas, Colorado, Nevada, California, Oregon, and the closest is my sister in Tucson.
My hobbies are extensive, including a passion for Reading Science Fiction and Fantasy, Cooking all types of food (especially Italian), hiking, swimming (especially in the ocean), and hanging out with my kids.
