Susan Spitzer 7/8 Special Ed./Music/Band
- Bachelors degree from Ball State University, Muncie, Indiana
I have taught altogether for 9 years in Ajo. My first two years were the 1979 - 80 and 1981 - 82 school years. I taught middle 5th and 6th grade special education at the Curley School. I later taught high school special education for one year but was RIF'ed because of a declining enrollment. I stayed home with my young family for several years before resuming teaching in the Gila Bend School District. I returned to Ajo for the 2002 - 03 school year to teach music and band. Special education classes were added in the 2004 - 05 school year and I have been teaching all three areas ever since.
Plans After Teaching:
I plan to do some traveling with my husband and to spoil all the grandchildren I hope to have by that time. I also hope to continue to work with the Ajo Community Band and Choir.
Personal Life:
Family - I have been happily married to my husband Ray Spitzer for 28 years. We have 3 children. Retta is married and living in Thatcher, Arizona. Shawn is also living in Thatcher and is working and attending Eastern Arizona College. Sarah is still at home but will begin Eastern Arizona College in September of 2008.
Hobbies:
Reading, horseback riding, collecting Christmas snow globes, and collecting western art and snow globes
