Career & Technical Education
At Ajo Unified School District, our Career and Technical Education Department helps students travel a road to success! CTE is changing lives for the better. We invite you to learn more about this wonderful program here on our website or by contacting our CTE coordinator.
Planning for the Future
Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs are about providing students with choices and skills they need for their future. CTE classes address the specific program standards and reinforce the academic standards embedded across the CTE curriculum. We provide students with learning opportunities in a contextual, problem-solving format that applies to various post-secondary options.
Our focus is to prepare students to continue their education in college, community college, industry certification, or to enter the workplace. Strong academic skills blended with relevant career and technical curriculum will lead to viable career paths.
Career and Technical Student Organizations (CTSO) relate to specific CTE program areas and provide students with the opportunity to:
- Learn leadership skills
- Problem solve with adults
- Compete in specific technical skills
A Joint Technical Education District
Ajo High School provides courses in the vocational field in conjunction with Pima County’s JTED (Joint Technical Education District). JTED classes are open to 10–12 graders.
